Research Technician - Alwin Köhler lab


We are searching for a skilled technician, who wants to explore the cell nucleus with us. Our lab is broadly interested in nuclear envelope biology in health and disease. This includes the role of nuclear pore complexes in gene regulation, chromatin signaling at the nuclear periphery and various aspects of nuclear membrane dynamics.

You should have a great passion for basic research and strong organizational and time management skills. Your responsibilities will include a range of molecular biology techniques such as PCR, molecular cloning, protein/DNA electrophoresis. You will also perform biochemical techniques including recombinant protein expression, purification and analysis as well as yeast genetics and cell biology. You will further assist in the laboratory by ordering of new supplies and general lab maintenance. You should have excellent communication and cooperation skills and the ability to work in an international team. Curiosity, patience and attention to details are very important for us. We will support you in continuing professional development. A master’s degree in the life sciences and prior laboratory practice is required for this position.
