Research

How cells achieve intra-cellular communication is one of the fundamental questions in biology. The endoplasmic reticulum (ER) is the largest membrane-bound organelle in the cell and is the site of the synthesis and turnover of a major fraction of lipids and membrane proteins. The ER is connected to the nucleus by junctions with the outer nuclear membrane.
