Hans Rotheneder Lab
Research in my laboratory is focused on the mechanisms controlling growth and cell cycle of the mammalian cell. Regulation of transcription is the most fundamental of these mechanisms and plays an important role in the expression of many genes. Transcription is regulated mainly by the interplay of the basal transcription machinery with sequence specific transcription factors. E2F is a family of transcription factors that integrate cell-cycle progression with transcription through cyclical interactions with important cell cycle regulators, such as the retinoblastoma-tumor-suppressor-gene product (pRB), cyclins and cyclin dependent kinases.
