International Symposium "Meeting, Pairing & Propagating"

The Symposium entitled "Meeting, Pairing & Propagating - The Molecular Biology of Sexual Reproduction" hosts talks by international scientists to highlight facets of sexual reproduction such as the evolution of sex, meiosis, the role of epigenetics and associated diseases.
 
The Symposium is organized by the students of the IK Cell Nucleus, a doctoral program at the University of Vienna and the Max F. Perutz Laboratories.

The symposium will celebrate the discovery in 1909 of poliovirus by the Viennese scientist Karl Landsteiner, discuss our current state of knowledge on poliovirus biology as well as the prospects for the eradication program.
